Printmaking is an art medium consisting of several different printing methods. Most of the techniques start with a matrix as an information barrier, and with the paper as it’s final destination. Printing can in some cases also be done on other materials such as textile, wood, glass, metal etc. Typically, every color is layered on top of each other by printing one color at a time. The main starting point of printmaking is as a reproductive medium that can print several of the same image, and ,much like a chameleon, the medium can mimic other mediums such as photography, painting and drawing.
