During my residency at Trykkeriet in Bergen, I’m developing a printmaking project that explores transformation and the fluid nature of reality and self. Starting from a familiar image or idea, I allow it to evolve gradually, inspired by paths traced through the surrounding forests—mirroring both personal journey and perceptual mapping.
Influenced by the concept of a cyclical, sun-driven system, my work draws on the forest as a dynamic ecosystem in constant dialogue with change. I challenge the notion of the traditional print edition as fixed and identical by using bio-based inks extracted from organic matter gathered on walks. These inks are reactive and sensitive, creating unique, evolving prints that capture fleeting moments.
By embracing the unpredictable interplay of natural materials and chemical reactions, the work reflects on perception, repetition, and the limitations of how we understand reality. Each print becomes a living fragment—an image shaped by circumstance, time, and unseen forces.
Through this process, I aim to create sensory encounters with interconnection and impermanence, inviting viewers to experience the subtle rhythms of transformation and the poetic complexity of the world around us.
